Udacity website SEO Audit
As an experienced digital marketer, I was brought in to conduct a comprehensive SEO audit for Udacity.com, a leading online education platform offering various nanodegree programs.
Objectives establishment

The project began with clearly defining the marketing objective - to increase organic search traffic to Udacity.com by 1,000 visitors within 3 months. With this goal in mind, I developed an audit plan focused on on-page optimization, off-page optimization, performance testing, and benchmarking against competitors.
On/Off Site Optminzation
My on-page audit evaluated elements like page titles, meta descriptions, alt tags, and content topics. I used tools like Moz and Screaming Frog to crawl Udacity's site, identify issues like missing alt tags, and propose improvements aligned to target keywords.
For off-page optimization, I performed a backlink analysis using OpenSiteExplorer. I recommended high-authority websites relevant to Udacity's content that could provide value through backlinks. Link building is crucial for increasing domain authority and search visibility.
Using tools like Think With Google and WebPageTest, I evaluated the site's mobile optimization and page speed. The tests revealed opportunities to improve load times and user experience on mobile devices.

Target Persona

To understand Udacity's target audience, I created a detailed persona, Mahmoud, representing a prospective student interested in digital marketing courses. Keeping Mahmoud in mind, I researched relevant keywords using tools like Moz and SEMrush to inform content optimization.
I benchmarked Udacity against top competitors using SimilarWeb. This allowed me to understand their SEO strategies and identify gaps.
Recommendation
In my final recommendations, I outlined both quick wins like optimizing existing content, as well as longer-term efforts like creating more pillar content around target keywords.
Conducting the audit provided tremendous insight into Udacity's SEO performance. My data-driven analysis also forms the basis for an actionable strategy to increase organic search traffic and conversions in line with their business goals. The techniques used can be applied to optimize any website's discoverability and traffic.
